12/15/10 - Mason extrication, 1200 block S. Edgar Rd

A vehicle traveling northbound on S. Edgar Rd lost control and struck a tree just north of Lyon Rd on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. The Lansing-Mason Ambulance Service was dispatched to the single patient injury accident at 11:06 AM. The ambulance crew arrived and determined that extrication was needed for better patient care. A request was made through Central Dispatch and at 11:16 AM the Mason Fire Department and the Ingham County Sheriff Rescue Squad were dispatched. The Sheriff Rescue Squad arrived first and their tools were deployed to remove the driver's door. Mason Firefirefighters assisted with stabilizing the vehicle and patient extrication. Using a KED board, the patient was secured and removed from the vehicle approximately 25 minutes later. The patient was transported to a hospital with non life threatening injuries.
